The Center for War & Diplomacy in the Post-Vietnam War Era Welcomes Katrina Jackson as the New Archivist

The Center for War & Diplomacy in the Post-Vietnam War Era is pleased to announce that Katrina Jackson has joined the Post-Vietnam War Era Archive as the new Assistant Archivist. Ms. Jackson's primary duties will involve creating a collection development policy, assisting in the development of a strong web presence for the Center and Archive, designing and implementing effective outreach strategies, choosing and implementing an accessioning program and a digital content management system and processing traditional archival materials.

A native of Tucson, Arizona, Ms. Jackson earned a Bachelor's degree in History with a minor in Art History in 2002, a Bachelor's degree in Anthropology with a Minor in Egyptian Studies and Classics in 2005 and a Master's degree in Information Resources and Library Science in 2007, all from the University of Arizona. As part of her graduate degree program, Ms. Jackson completed an internship at the University of Arizona's Special Collections, in which she worked with a collection pertaining to the USS Arizona battleship. Ms. Jackson also volunteered with the Photo Archivist at the Tucson Main Museum branch of the Arizona Historical Society during her graduate study, where she assisted in the development of an online digital photograph collection.

The Center for War & Diplomacy in the Post-Vietnam War Era and Archive are Open

Preliminary steps are currently being taken by the Interim Director, Ron Milam, and the Archivist, Katrina Jackson, to get the Center and Archive in fully working order. Current projects for the team include: the creation of a collection development policy, preliminary outreach efforts, preparing shelf space for collections, implementing an accessioning program and beginning initial work on some already received collections.
